AUDITION NOTICE:
Jubilations Dinner Theatre is welcoming actors to submit video auditions for their multiple show season. Jubilations is very interested in seeing performers from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and abilities. Actors are invited to submit for three different kinds of roles:
1. a MainStage show actor 2. a Junior show actor 3. an Understudy for either a MainStage or Junior showMAINSTAGE SHOWS are three-act musicals performed primarily in the evenings Wed-Sun geared to adults and families. MainStage shows tour our two theatres starting in Calgary, then ending the run in Edmonton. MainStage actors will be contracted per city, with 3 weeks of rehearsal and performing approximately 10 weeks in each city. There is a two week dark period between cities. An accommodation allowance is given over and above weekly pay amount for Calgary and Edmonton. Actors are paid weekly for a contracted number of shows. Actors are required to improvise throughout the event, before and between the acts, but are not required to serve.
JUNIOR SHOWS are TYA two-act musicals performed primarily on Saturdays as matinees geared to ages 4-12 and their families. Jr shows are performed locally in either Calgary or Edmonton. Jr show actors have 2 weeks of rehearsal and approximately 8 Saturday matinee shows with a handful of other additional show dates per run. Actors must be available for all performances in their particular city and are not required to tour. There are no accommodations or living per diems provided. MainStage actors may also perform in the Jr shows as the showtimes will not overlap. Performers are paid a lump sum for rehearsals and a set wage per show for a contracted number of shows. Actors are required to improvise throughout the event, before and between the acts, but are not required to serve.
UNDERSTUDIES are cast for either MainStage or Junior shows locally in both Calgary and Edmonton. Understudies will attend minimal rehearsals, watch the show live and diligently self-study. Understudies must familiarize themselves with all the character’s lines, singing parts and choreography so that, in the event of a few hours’ notice of going onstage, the understudy can be off book and ready to step in. Understudies are paid a set fee to be prepared and paid per performance in the event they must perform.
