Over the last 25 years or so I have penned over 100 scripts for Jubilations / Celebrations Dinner Theatre and I still very much enjoy the entire process. Whether it be an original story idea, or a spoof on well-known movies or television shows it is always fun to come up with a humorous twist of our own.
For this show I had the pleasure of coming up with a story for the much loved characters from the TV classic “Golden Girls” and also 2 characters from the movie franchise – “Pitched Perfect.” Both of these shows have brought us strong, hilarious female characters who it has certainly been a blast to write for.
I thank Artistic Director / Director – Mr. Bob Cunningham, whom I have worked with for many years, for all his fantastic input and direction of the show. As always, I give kudos to the amazing WOW production team members for their great work and whose talents never cease to amaze me! I also would like to thank all the additional cast members in all 3 cities for their contributions to each and every show. Special thanks to our General Partners, Janet Cunningham and Doug Stephen and last but certainly not least I thank the 6 incredibly talented ladies who make up our cast.
Enjoy the show!
Ahhh, retirement living is such a peaceful quiet time… well for some of us anyway. Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia seem to have a different approach. Something is always causing a stir in the retirement land of these golden girls, and tonight is no exception!
Thanks so much for joining us tonight as we put our Jubilations Dinner Theatre parody twist on a couple of comedy hits. We thought it would be fun to combine the hilarious antics of these modern female comedy characters and their perfect pitch, with the ultimate classy ladies of the 1980’s. So we assembled a fantastic group of super talented woman from all across Canada and got to work. We are so pleased with the result and we think you will be too.
So sit back and let us show you what retirement looks like in the world of the Pitched Perfect golden Girls!
Amy is jazzed to be back with Jubilations for a third time! Her past shows include Runaway Bridesmaids, Footsloose 2, and the Jubilations Junior show, Motel Transylvania. Amy is originally from Drayton Valley, and graduated from the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta with a BA in Drama. She would like to thank her Mom and Dad for all of their support, and to Ryan for binge-watching every episode of Golden Girls with her to prepare for this show. Enjoy!
Gillian is thrilled to be back on the Jubilations stage! You may recognize her from her last Jubilations adventure as Endora in Bewitching Elvis, but probably not — a giant red wig can be quite transformative. Her love of expression through movement has led her to train in everything from classical yoga and dance to aerials, partner acrobatics and stilt walking. She has toured extensively, performing from coast to coast and across France and the US. Gillian is a graduate of MacEwan University's Theatre Arts program, and holds a BA in English from the University of Winnipeg.

Other Sheridan performance credits include: Sweeney Todd, Chicago, The Theory of Relativity and Wendla in Spring Awakening. Since graduating Beth has completed a lead vocalist contract with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines on The Enchantment of the Seas cruising the Bahamas. She also has had the pleasure of singing the national anthems for the Toronto Blue Jays. Other Credits include Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella in Cinderella, Nancy in Oliver! Sending so much love and appreciation to everyone involved with this production on and off the stage. Thank you to her remarkable family and the team at Newton Landry Management. Most of all Beth sends all her love and appreciation across the country to her fiancé Brandon, who selflessly supports her endeavours with patience, love and understanding from their home in Oakville, ON.

Lauren Griffiths is a Toronto trained actor and comedian, who is absolutely terrified to face Alberta’s winter for the first time ever! She is a graduate of York University’s acting conservatory, as well as The Second City conservatory, but her love for theatre doesn’t stop there! Lauren has recently been expanding her horizons by studying directing at Tarragon Theatre with Richard Rose, Baby Clown and Mask in Manitoulin Island with John Turner and coaching Vanier’s Improv Company at York University. She’s also tried her hand at directing, producing and stage managing, however this is the very first time Lauren will attempt musical theatre… joke’s on you all—good luck! Enjoy!
